None can love freedom heartily, but good men; the rest love not freedom, but license. —JOHN MILTON, The Tenure of Kings and Magistrates
Freedom is dangerous in the hands of those who don’t use it properly. The misuse of freedom is evident in the Christian life. Believers are free from the law’s curse, its penalty, and its guilt-producing power. However, if we use our liberty to live selfishly or claim ownership of what God has merely loaned to us, We abuse the precious freedom given in Christ. We slip into patterns of self-indulgent living, especially in affluent societies like America.
