When God gave the Law, it was intended to be
secondary not primary. It came in beside sinners to
show how huge our lack of holiness really is; it was
given not to make us sinners, for there was sin long
before Mt. Sinai smoked, but to show us the depth
of our depravity. One writer said it well:
“The Law makes little Adams out of all of us.”
